About the programme

Horizon 2020 is the largest EU research and innovation programme that has ever existed. It will contribute to new scientific breakthroughs, inventions and global scale innovations by pushing ideas from lab to market. Over 7 years (2014-2020) more than 80 billion Euros of funding will be allocated.

The programme will strengthen the global EU lead in innovations by attracting the brightest minds and enabling cooperation and the free flow on information between all European scientists. It will help talented people and innovative companies to increase the economic competitiveness of Europe, create places of employment and improve the quality of life for all.
