New sources of proteins for animal feed from co-products to address the EU protein gap

This program supports the demonstration of new sources of protein for animal feed. 

Activities supported 

This program supports the demonstration of new sources of protein for animal feed. These sources may include biorefinery side-streams, residues from the agro-food industry, seaweeds and algae or dry land crops. 

Requirements 

The applicant must be a consortium of at least 3 different unrelated legal entities in 3 different Horizon 2020 affiliated countries.  

Financing  

The Commission considers that proposals requesting a contribution from the EU of up to 15 million would allow this area to be addressed appropriately. Nonetheless, this does not preclude submission and selection of proposals requesting other amounts. Funding rate is 70% for profit seeking organizations and 100% for non-profits.
