Valorisation of by-products or waste-streams from the food processing industry into high added-value products for market applications

This program supports the demonstration of new ways of utilising food processing waste for creation of high added-value products.

Activities supported

This program supports the demonstration of the recovery of valuable bio-molecules from food processing by-products or waste-streams and their conversion into high added-value products of suitable quality to meet market requirements. The demonstration should be performed on an industrial scale.

Requirements

The applicant must be a consortium of at least 3 different unrelated legal entities in 3 different Horizon 2020 affiliated countries.

Financing

The Commission considers that proposals requesting a contribution from the EU of up to 30 million would allow this area to be addressed appropriately. Nonetheless, this does not preclude submission and selection of proposals requesting other amounts. Funding rate is 70% for profit seeking organizations and 100% for non-profits.

Upcoming calls

This program will have 1 more call on 2016 September 08 which has a budget of 188.65 million euros that it shares with several other research programs.
