DS-07-2017: Addressing Advanced Cyber Security Threats and Threat Actors

This program supports the development of detection methods and pedagogical solutions for organisations, in order to improve their response to cyber-attacks.

Activities supported

This program supports two distinct areas with different funding opportunities:

  • Situational awareness: proposals should focus on the development of novel approaches for providing organisations the appropriate situational awareness in relation to cyber security threats allowing them to detect and quickly and effectively respond to sophisticated cyber-attacks.

  • Simulation environments, training: proposals should develop innovative simulation environments and training materials in order to adequately prepare those tasked with defending high-risk organisations to counter advanced cyber-attacks.

Requirements

The applicant must be a consortium of at least 3 different unrelated legal entities in 3 different Horizon 2020 affiliated countries.

Financing

The Commission considers that proposals requesting contributions from the EU of between EUR 2 and 3 million for situational awareness and between EUR 4 and 5 million for pedagogical tools would allow the areas to be addressed appropriately. Nonetheless, this does not preclude submission and selection of proposals requesting other amounts. Funding rate is 100% for situational awareness proposals, 70% for profit seeking organizations and 100% for non-profits im pedagogical tool proposals.

Upcoming calls

This program will have 1 more call on 2017 August 24 which has a budget of 10 million euros for situational awareness and 8 million euros for pedagogical tools.
